Ford ( F ) is scheduled to report third quarter results after the bell on Wednesday, with investors watching whether the automaker will hold or raise its full-year outlook again.
For the quarter, Ford is expected to report automotive revenue of $46.2 billion per Bloomberg consensus, with adjusted EPS of $0.41 on adjusted EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) of $2.38 billion.
Last quarter, Ford raised its full-year adjusted EBIT guidance to $10 billion to $11 billion (prior guidance was $8.5 billion to $10.5 billion). It also lifted its adjusted free cash flow outlook to $6 billion to $7 billion.
Analysts see full-year adjusted EBIT of $10.52 billion, in the upper half of that range. Capital expenditures are expected at $9.9 billion, within Ford's unchanged $9.5 billion to $10.5 billion range.
Last week, rival GM narrowed its 2026 EBIT-adjusted guidance to $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion while raising its EPS outlook, and shares slid despite an earnings beat, with investors hoping for more.
One area that may have negatively impacted operations occurred at the end of the quarter in September. Ford canceled all production crews at its Dearborn Truck Plant for nearly a week because of a supply problem, according to Reuters , and Kansas City Assembly cut shifts too.
Ford called it "a short-term supplier issue unrelated to aluminum" and said the hit is "containable within the full-year 2026 adjusted EBIT guidance."
In terms of sales, Ford's Q3 US sales fell 6.6% to 509,764 vehicles , which the company blamed on the planned phase-outs of the Escape and Lincoln Corsair. Excluding those two models, it said volume was essentially flat; however, F-series truck sales dipped 1.9% in the quarter.

Last month Ford unveiled its refreshed 2027 F-150 , with more V8 options that Ford said customers want.
Conversely, the discontinued F-150 Lightning EV underscores the problems Ford faces with EVs. Q3 EV sales plunged 80% , continuing a trend that began last year following the expiration of the federal EV tax credit.
Ford's Model e EV business unit is expected to post a loss of $1.17 billion, wider than the $919 million last quarter, on revenue of $1.12 billion. In July, Ford said its Model e outlook included about $1 billion in added spending on its Universal EV platform and Ford Energy, mostly in the second half.
Ford is betting its new Fathom EV pickup , with a starting price of $28,350, will turn around its EV efforts.
