Verizon customers reported problems with their wireless service on Saturday, Aug. 8, according to Downdetector, a website that tracks service outages based on user reports.
As of about 5:25 p.m. ET, Downdetector showed 12,319 reports of Verizon problems within the last three hours, indicating a significant number of customers were experiencing service disruptions.
The vast majority of reported problems involved mobile phone service. According to Downdetector, 91% of reports were related to mobile phones, while 5% involved mobile internet and 3% involved Verizon's 5G home internet service.
Reports came from multiple parts of the United States, with customers reporting difficulties making and receiving calls. Verizon said the issue impacted voice services for a limited number of customers in the East and parts of the Midwest.
Verizon said the service disruption was resolved shortly after 6 p.m. ET Saturday.

Customers can check the status of Verizon service in their area through the company's network status page. Users can enter their address to determine whether Verizon has identified an issue affecting their service.
